'Ship-Shape' Energy Saving

Construction News Image
Half a million people who are expected to descend on Belfast for this weekend's Tall Ships Maritime Festival (pictured) have had the opportunity to visit the Energy Saving Trust's 'Energy Saving Home' at Custom House Square.

As the official sponsor of the 'Gateway to the Tall Ships', which includes a myriad of entertainment, music and events taking place at Custom House Square, the Energy Saving Trust is offering visitors the opportunity to visit the house to find out how to take simple measures to avoid wasting energy around the home.

As Head of the Energy Saving Trust in Northern Ireland Noel Williams explained: "We're also bringing some free advice to the hundreds of thousands of people who will be in the city over the course of the Festival.

"With everyone's purse strings tighter nowadays, a visit to our Energy Saving Home in Custom House Square could show you how to save £330 a year on household bills."

A range of businesses from across Northern Ireland have backed the Energy Saving Trust's free advice initiative at the Festival, including Smyth Patterson, Solar Century, Kingspan Renewables, Balcas, Green Energy Technology, Younger Homes and Fraser Homes.

Mr Williams added: "We are delighted to have the support of a range of local businesses for our Energy Saving Home. This shows that Northern Ireland is gearing up for a greener future, and we want to help householders play a central role in this."
