His legal representation will seek protection for firms in his Zoe Developments group.
Lawyers for Mr Carroll are expected to present a plan to the High Court based on new figures for properties in his portfolio.

Earlier this week, a court refused an application to put the group into examinership, after ACC Bank took action to recoup a €136m loan.
Mr Carroll appealed the courts decision, but it was upheld, after claims in court that no evidence existed to suggest the companies would survive.
A provisional liquidator was appointed to two Zoe firms two days ago.
However, media reports this morning have suggested Mr Carroll's lawyers intend to use a clause in the Companies Act allowing three days from the time a provisional liquidator is appointed to make a fresh bid for protection under a revised plan.
