Cork Engineering Firm's High Standards Lauded

A Cork-based engineering firm has been lauded for its shared knowledge by the country's foremost engineering organisation.

Tyco Electronics Wireless Systems Solutions picked-up the the CPD (Continuing Professional Development) Accredited Employer standard from Engineers Ireland.

The accolade was presented following an audit of the firm's lifelong learning practices for engineering professionals.

Engineers Ireland Director General John Power said: "The CPD Accredited Employer standard recognises companies and organisations which implement specific continuing professional development policies to support their engineers and technical staff.


"Professional development has become the keystone for companies to stay ahead of their competitors and to be at the forefront of their customers minds."

Mike O'Flynn, Managing Director with Tyco Electronics said: "As an organisation we have a strong vision of where we would like to go, but it is only through the continued creation, collection and sharing of knowledge that we are able to progress.

"This award is recognition of the drive of teams and individuals towards engineering excellence and continuous development."

Engineers Ireland's CPD Accredited Employer scheme is co-funded by the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment under the National Training Plan.
