The Department of Education and Science provided an all-in-grant of €417,000 which allowed the school to build two new classrooms, two learning support rooms, a car park and to upgrade the electrical and plumbing works.

Speaking at the school, Minister O'Keeffe said: "This project came about through the dedication and hard work of the local community supported by Government.
"I commend the school's principal, Brídín Farren, teachers, parents, pupils and everyone who've worked so hard to bring this project to completion.
"Scoil Phroinnseas Naofa has had notable achievements in arts, drama and music.
"The promotion of arts and music in a school is important because it'll help develop the children emotionally, academically and spiritually."
