NI Housing Executive District Manager Ivan Armstrong has met with the Cookstown Housing Community Network representatives, and lauded the valuable role they play in assisting the District Office maintain its excellence in customer service.

The Housing Community Network (HCN) is closely involved in monitoring the Cookstown District Office's performance.

Mr Armstrong said: "The HCN has two representatives from each of the community associations in the Cookstown District and I am delighted that these associations are regularly represented at our quarterly meetings.

"During the year the HCN received a number of presentations and the representatives had the opportunity to discuss a range of issues such as our business plan, modernising services programme, Community Involvement Strategy and house contents insurance.

"All of this information, and opportunity for discussion, ensures that HCN members are kept fully aware, and have an understanding, of the work we carry out in the local District Office."

Rose Timoney, from the Housing Community Network, said that reviewing and highlighting good practice is an important feature of their work.

"Last year we had an opportunity to visit the West Area Customer Service Unit which deals with repairs, payments and housing applications. We were also able to visit a number of community groups and see the work they were undertaking in their own areas.

"We are delighted to congratulate the Housing Executive’s Cookstown District Office staff on their continued excellent performance, particularly after the changes following the modernising services programme," she said

"We recognise and value the high level of community development work being undertaken and welcome their participation in a range of partnerships which benefits communities within the District."
