A lucratrive €750,000 contract has been signed in the Republic of Ireland by a specialist Co Tyrone firm.
With support from Invest Northern Ireland, Castlederg-based Corlin Developments is undertaking the contract to provide essential fire resistant coatings in the construction of an €80 million multi-storey shopping centre development in Cork.
Corlin is know as a leading provider of fire protection services to the construction sector, primarily in RoI.
Invest NI has worked closely with the company, supporting export marketing activities and wider business development initiatives since it was established in 2004.
Mary Gormley, Manager of Invest NI's Western Regional Office said: "Corlin Developments is a young company which has rapidly established itself in a highly specialised area of the RoI construction market.
"Despite the current economic conditions which have impacted on this sector, Corlin Developments has remained competitive, securing a major contract through a focus on best practice, the application of innovative techniques in a niche area and export marketing."
Chris McLaughlin, Director, Corlin Developments added: "Our reputation and expertise has helped us to maintain a strong market presence.
"Conditions are challenging but we have continued to grow export levels to approximately 75% of our business by intensively marketing our high quality, effective fire protection services, with support from Invest NI.
"We are delivering full fire protection services for our new client in Cork - fire retardant paint for coating steel structures and protective sprays, and fire stopping, which essentially involves blocking holes and partition joins to prevent the spread of fire and smoke.
"With health and safety regulations becoming ever more stringent, demand has remained high," he said.
