Local Building Firms' Global Trade Mission

Around 60 Ulster firm have signed up to international trade fairs, in a bid to bolster sales.

The events, scheduled to take place as far a field a Russia, Saudi Arabia and Korea, are supported by Invest NI.

Helping the ailing construction industry has become a major concern for the development agency, which has encouraged local firms to partake in several exhibitions, including Big 5 in Dubai, Intermat in Paris, Eco Build and Future Build in London, Interbuild in Birmingham, Hillhead in Derbyshire, Irish Sustainable Building and Road Expo Ireland, both in Dublin.


Invest NI's Trade Director Alan Hingston said: "Our objective is to assist companies, in particular SMEs, to sell products and services outside Northern Ireland, establish in-market sales and distribution channels, and develop strategic business alliances with in-market providers to gain market entry.

"We have a network of trade development centres in Dubai, Mumbai, Shanghai, Boston, Denver and Dusseldorf, where companies can access specialist assistance and office facilities.

"Our companies are also able to take part in visits organised by Enterprise Ireland’s overseas offices."
