Law Firm Signs Up For Grand Canal Space

There has been a welcome boost in Dublin's office-space market, with the announcement that a top law firm is to occupy a substantial part of the capital's Grand Canal Square.

According on reports on Property week, William Fry has signed up to take 121,000 square feet at the site.

The Dublin south dockland's base will operate as the firm's new headquarters.


William Fry will relocate from Fitzwilton House to occupy the space in Chartered Land's 4 Grand Canal Square.

Of late, the commercial rental market, particularly office space, has bore the brunt of the economic downturn.

The move, which is expected to happen next year, is seen as part of the firm's long-term growth.

William Fry managing partner Myra Garnett told Property Week: "We have outgrown our offices in Fitzwilton House and need to plan for the future. William Fry has been in existence for over 160 years and, not withstanding the downturn, we have confidence in the future growth and success of our firm."

Bannon acted for the landlord and Jones Lang LaSalle acted for the tenant.
