The work has been planned to reduce the risk of out of sewer flooding and the frequency of spills to the Farset watercourse, while complying with environmental standards.
Work will commence on next week.
The scheme, which is part of the £130 million Belfast Sewers Project, involves replacing a section of clay sewer pipe with piping nearly triple the diameter of the original.

This will increase capacity almost three-fold. This pipe stretches for approximately 190m from Bridge Street to Royal Avenue.
It is estimated that these works will take approximately eight weeks to complete.
Bill Gowdy, Project Sponsor Northern Ireland Water, said: "We have been working closely with DRD Roads Service and some traffic restrictions will be implemented.
"Two-way traffic will be in operation in Castle Place; however, the loading bay between Corn Market and Bridge Street will be temporarily closed on the country bound lane.
"The entrance to Lombard Street will also be temporarily closed for a short period. This is to ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements during construction."
