Senior representatives from some of the world’s largest natural resources and engineering contracting companies will be in Ireland later this month for a major health, safety & environment (HSE) conference.
The conference is to be hosted by the Kentz Group, the Clonmel-based engineers and consultants to the global oil and gas industry.
Representatives from Bechtel, SIPChem, ExxonMobil, Saudi Aramco, Siemens and SMB Imodco Heuston will be among the attendees at the conference, which takes place in County Waterford on 10 April.
The conference will also be attended by senior Kentz management from the Group’s 22 subsidiaries worldwide.
Kentz Group CEO, Dr. Hugh O’Donnell said: “While our company has an excellent safety ethos, we are constantly searching for new ways to further improve our safety performance with a view to achieving working environments where no one gets hurt.”
The theme of this year’s conference will be 'Working Safety from the Ground Up – Rationalising Differences in Risk Tolerance and Mitigation’. Topics being presented at the conference will include presentations on The Pros and Cons of Behavioural Programmes in the Workforce; Risk Management from a Legislative Perspective; Autonomy of Safety Leadership Behaviour and Its Impact on the Workforce; and Upstream Projects: Lessons Learnt in Behavioural Safety.
James Cassin, HSE Manager with Kentz Group added: “All the speakers, including senior managers from our clients and from our own companies, are recognised within our industry as safety champions. We want them to share their safety leadership thoughts, experience and initiatives at the conference.“
