Tyrone TimberFrames is striving to provide self-builders and their architects the opportunity to plan and build energy efficient new build homes.
Energy Performance Certificates are now commonplace in England and Wales, in compliance with the EU Directive these are expected to become mandatory on all new buildings in Northern Ireland from Spring 2008. These certificates are a comprehensive assessment of the energy efficiency of a building the higher the rating the better the performance of the dwelling. Tyrone Timberframes Ltd are committed to helping their clients achieve the best possible gradings for their buildings with reference to the vital areas of insulation, airtightness and heat recovery.
David Maxwell from Tyrone TimberFrames says: "A standard Tyrone Timber Frame Homes is up to 40 per cent more energy efficient than a block build. We can help those planning new builds to further improve by providing effective solutions to improve insulation, airtightness and the heat recovery properties of your home. We can currently assist with airtightness certifications relating to energy efficiency on houses and intend to assist with SAP Calculations in the near future."
Tyrone TimberFrames are providing a specialist solution in each of these areas. Step one is an intelligent vapour check system which insures quality of airtightness in the build. This provides optimum protection for all thermal insulation in roofs, walls and floors, preventing mould growth. The system possesses the world's best and most effective variable diffusion resistance under any climatic conditions, providing high diffusion tightness in Winter band maximum diffusion openness in summer.
Tyrone TimberFrames Ltd can also supply a totally natural insulation product available in roll or mat form. Thermo-Hemp is 100 per cent pollutant-free, ruling out any risk to health either in production or installation and provides a home with a totally natural & healthy living environment. Finally to aid Heat Recovery they can supply a system designed to completely change all the air in the property at least once every two hours, continually replacing the stale damp air with fresh, warmed, clean, filtered air. The Villavent Heat Recovery Ventilation system recovers 60-70 per cent of the heat normally lost through trickle vents and other breakout points in the building structure. The system provides filtered fresh air thus creating a healthier indoor environment alleviating allergy sufferers. The systems require no noisy extractor fans or draughty trickle ventilators in windows. This also reduces noise pollution and heat loss. The pollen filter is approved by The British Allergy Foundation and awarded it's Seal of Approval on products supplied with EU7 filter.
