Douglas Wallace Acquires Corporate Edge Interiors And Architecture

The major Irish firm of architects, designers and project managers Douglas Wallace has acquired Corporate Edge Interiors and Architecture, in a deal worth €1 million.

The deal follows Douglas Wallace’s recent acquisition of Ferguson Wheeler, the leading Belfast based architecture and design practice. It further underpins international expansion plans at Douglas Wallace which has already established a London base.

Corporate Edge Interiors and Architecture specialises in Wellness Design for fitness centres, spas and medical facilities and has been responsible for many 'benchmark' projects in their sector. The newly acquired division also has strong experience and clientele in the general leisure sector including interior design and brand application for restaurants and hotels.

Headquartered in Dublin, Douglas Wallace is expanding its business into Europe through organic and acquisitive growth. This latest acquisition strengthens the company’s presence in London. Group turnover is projected to grow to over €30 million by 2010. The company has current turnover in excess of €18 million, a total of 160 staff, design studios in Ireland and the UK and clients and projects across Europe. Douglas Wallace will now be the largest multidisciplinary practice in Ireland and will also be among the leading firms in the UK.

Founded in 1980, Douglas Wallace has become one of Ireland’s foremost architecture, design and project management practices with offices in London, Dublin, and Galway.

The company has an annual revenue growth rate of between 15% and 20% and currently works for a portfolio of Irish, UK and International clients.

Recent projects include The g Hotel Galway, Johnson’s Court Sligo, Brown Thomas, Scotch Hall Drogheda, the Eye Cinema Galway, The Morrison Hotel and Edward Square Donnybrook.
