FP McCann's £90 million investment will expand its manufacturing, create 100 new jobs and introduce new product lines after strong sales in early 2024.
The new investments will support the maintenance and expansion of our sustainable product range. We have already implemented pioneering quality control processes across several of our 12 UK manufacturing facilities, including AI-driven quality checks and full product traceability, as part of our commitment to achieving Carbon Neutral status.
Some of the new product lines will include:
• Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Blocks and Panels (AAC) – Changes to Part L Building Regulations 2023 marked a significant milestone towards delivering the UK’s net zero targets. FP McCann is investing in a new factory to produce Autoclaved Aerated Concrete Blocks and Panels (AAC), making compliance with the latest changes more achievable. Next year, Future Homes Standard will also be introduced, which sets a clear pathway for building the next generation of energy-efficient and climate-resilient homes.
• New Bagging Line for Specialist Mortars and Grouts – An additional bagging line will be operational in Q4 2024 to bolster growth in our bagged products, incorporating our specialist mortars and grouts.
• Natural Stone Paving Range—In September 2024, FP McCann will also introduce a natural decorative paving range, complementing its extensive range of precast concrete building products. The paving portfolio includes premium riven and sawn Indian sandstone and porcelain slabs.
•New Plastic Pipe Range – In addition to FP McCann’s below-ground precast concrete solutions for drainage, water management, and utility infrastructure, a new factory is planned to manufacture HDPE twin wall and PVC-u storm and foul sewer drainage pipes and utility ducting.
A spokesperson for FP McCann stated: "We constantly take on board customer feedback, and the needs of our customers drive the investment in these new products and services. As an example, FP McCann’s unique multi-product load offering has been a fantastic success. Builders’ merchants no longer have to coordinate multiple deliveries of single product loads, each often carrying a part-load surcharge. With the introduction of our new decorative paving range, we can now offer up to 8 different products on a single load, and as more products come online, we will expand this service further."
