RenewableNI has announced that tickets are now available for the Smart Energy Conference, a key event in the renewable energy sector.
The flagship conference is set to take place on Thursday 24 October at ICC Belfast. The event has doubled in size each of the past three years, highlighting the increasing significance of renewable electricity for Northern Ireland's economy and environmental goals.
Economy Minister, Conor Murphy MLA, will deliver the keynote address this year; the first time in three years there has been a sitting Executive on the conference date. RenewableNI's new Chair, Tamasin Fraser, will open the conference and chair a morning panel with senior figures from event partners Carson McDowell, ESB and SSE Renewables.
Their discussion will shape the day's agenda, focusing on the reforms necessary to transition to a net-zero electricity system for Northern Ireland. The event will also feature an exhibition area where organisations can showcase their work to attendees. This space will host both the lunch, sponsored by Action Renewables and the closing drinks reception.
Communications and Events Manager, Judith Rance, said: "We are expecting over 250 delegates to join us for this year’s conference. Tickets have sold out every year, and I expect them to go quickly again. We want Smart Energy to be an inclusive event, so the tickets are only £245, or £195 for RenewableNI members. We also offer a limited number of tickets for full-time students and early career females.
"Our event starts at 10am allowing people to travel by sustainable methods to Belfast, and ensures those with caring responsibilities don’t have to alter their schedules. Our venue has a commitment to being accessible and staff are available in advance for anyone buying a ticket to discuss their requirements."
