Major Works Begin On Drogheda Wastewater Treatment Plant

Work has begun on the Drogheda Wastewater Treatment Plant, focusing primarily on covering the primary settlement tanks.

This project aims to ensure continued compliance with statutory requirements, ultimately creating a cleaner and more pleasant environment for residents in the greater Drogheda area and parts of East Meath.

Esther White, Programme Manager at Uisce Éireann, said: "We’re looking forward to beginning construction of this critical project for the people of Drogheda. When complete, this new infrastructure will ensure a cleaner and more pleasant environment for residents in the greater Drogheda area and parts of East Meath."


The works, representing a €10 million investment by Uisce Éireann in Drogheda, are expected to be completed within 27 months. EPS (Electrical and Pump Services) will carry out these upgrades on behalf of Uisce Éireann. All work will take place entirely within the wastewater treatment plant, minimising traffic disruption in the local area during construction.
