Farrans Construction has recently completed a substantial recladding and remediation project valued in the multi-million-pound range at Beacon Tower in Bristol on behalf of its client, 3SIXTY Real Estate.
Originally designed as a commercial office block, Beacon Tower has been successfully transformed into a residential building featuring 44 apartments spread across seven floors. The project involved removing and replacing the existing exterior HPL cladding and render system to ensure compliance with fire safety regulations while preserving the building's original aesthetic.
Clare Taylor, Contracts Manager on this project for Farrans, said: "Beacon Tower is an excellent project to add to our portfolio of successfully completed recladding projects in England. Building safety has to be the highest priority and we understand that schemes like this with buildings which are in use can often come with additional complexities. For example, throughout this process the Beacon Tower apartments remained occupied, with work completed in a manner which involved very minimal disturbance. We were approved by Homes England to deliver the Beacon Tower recladding scheme.
"We would encourage landlords and property owners to avail of the Cladding Safety Scheme which is accessible to fund the remediation of cladding on high-rise residential buildings. Our team is available to provide expert advice to take your project forward.
"Our team has been pleased to continue our presence in the Bristol region throughout this project, having recently completed the new Keynsham Recycling Hub for Bath and North East Somerset Council. We are also on site at Bristol Airport delivering a transformational public transport project with our JV partners Griffiths."
With over 80 years of experience in delivering construction and civil engineering projects throughout the UK and Ireland, Farrans operates with a team of more than 650 highly skilled professionals from offices located in London, Belfast, Edinburgh, and Leeds.
