Cork County Council has announced that it will start accepting applications for a new Affordable Housing Scheme in Mallow which has been developed on behalf of the Land Development Agency.

Applications for the new three and four-bedroom houses at Clonmore, Ballyviniter in Mallow will open at 12 noon on Monday the 24 June 2024.

Developed by O'Flynn Group, the homes will primarily cater to first-time buyers who do not currently own a home, with a few exceptions, and Fresh Start Applicants.

Located in the scenic Blackwater Valley, the development offers convenient access to Mallow town center and is adjacent to an established residential neighbourhood. A minimum of 8 three-bedroom houses will be priced from €275,000, reflecting a reduction of around 21.4 per cent from market value, and at least 2 four-bedroom houses will start from €295,000, marking a reduction of approximately 20.2 per cent from market value.

Welcoming the new affordable homes, Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr. Frank O'Flynn said: "Mallow offers an excellent choice of educational and recreational facilities for families. Cork County Council is delighted to launch this Affordable Housing Scheme in Mallow. Clonmore offers A-rated homes with the convenience of urban dwelling combined with the benefits of a rural lifestyle, providing houses in a well-designed landscaped setting."

Through the Affordable Housing Scheme, buyers will engage in an affordable dwelling purchase agreement with Cork County Council. This agreement entails the Council retaining a percentage equity share in the dwelling, calculated as the difference between the market value and the purchase price, expressed as a percentage of the market value (minimum of five per cent).

Applications for the scheme will be accepted between 12 noon on the 24 June 2024 to 12 noon on the 15 July 2024 via the online application portal at the link below.
