Refurbished Play Parks Reopen In Enniskillen

Construction News Image
Play parks in Kilmacormick and Lisgoole, Enniskillen have been officially opened by Fermanagh and Omagh District Council following improvement works as part of the Council's Play Park Strategy.

The project, which involved upgrading existing equipment and adding new items, will create opportunities for more accessible and inclusive play. The improvements include swings, slides, an age-appropriate climbing structure, a roundabout and activity stations.

The Council's Play Park Strategy supports the Council's commitment to ensure our people are healthy and well and our young people have the best start in life. It also aims to ensure that our play park estate is accessible, clean, safe and sustainably managed for the future.

Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council, Councillor Thomas O'Reilly, said: "I am delighted to see the completion of the works at Kilmacormick and Lisgoole Play Parks in Enniskillen. The ongoing delivery of the Play Park Strategy, now in its 4th year, is important to ensure that residents across the District, in both urban and rural areas, have access to quality play facilities which are convenient and accessible."

It is regrettable that within a few days of its opening, the new play park equipment and seating at Kilmacormick Play Park were vandalised. This incident diverted valuable Council resources toward repairs that could have benefited the wider community. The Council urges anyone who witnesses vandalism to report it to the PSNI immediately.
