ESB Opens New High-Powered Charging Hub

ESB has opened its new High-Powered Charging Hub at the Blanchardstown Centre in Dublin which will be beneficial to all electric vehicle (EV) drivers.  

As the biggest hub in Dublin it includes four 200kW high-powered chargers which can charge eight EVs simultaneously and can provide 100 kilometres of charge in as little as six minutes. These additional chargers compliment the high-power and fast chargers previously installed by ESB at Blanchardstown Centre in October 2021.

Strategically positioned within the retail park next to the M50 and N3, these chargers guarantee convenient access for all visitors, eliminating any concerns of searching for charging stations. In the past 12 months alone, ESB has successfully introduced a remarkable 19 new charging hubs and improved charge points in various locations, resulting in a nationwide network of over 1,500 public charge points.


Partially funded by the Government's Climate Action Fund, ESB's key milestone in 2023 was the doubling the number of high-power chargers.

Over the course of the last two years, ESB has constructed 39 high-power charging hubs across the country, replaced more than 250 AC chargers with state-of-the-art technology, and upgraded an additional 52 AC chargers to fast 50kW and 100kW chargers.

These innovative charging hubs will play a key role in supporting Ireland's EV transition, which is critical in terms of meeting Ireland's ambitious transport targets as laid out in the Climate Action Plan.
