The Draft Climate Action Plan sets out how the Council can promote a range of climate action measures to help deliver on the National Climate Action Plan and the Government's overall National Climate Objective. The actions will help prepare the city and its residents for the known impacts of climate change. Climate Neutral Dublin 2030 will also set out how the City Council will mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and contribute the global effort to limit warming to below one point five degree celsius.

Dublin City Council said its goal is to transition Dublin into a climate-resilient, biodiversity-rich, environmentally sustainable, and climate-neutral economy by the end of 2050.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Daithí de Róiste, said: "Our success is dependent on all of us. For the journey to carbon neutrality by 2030 and beyond, we know that we need everyone at the table, ready to work and invest in our future and the future of generations to come. I encourage you take action and be part of the journey."
The public consultation closes on 2 November.
