Essential Upgrades Take Place On Dublin City Water Supply

A series of key water supply upgrades have got underway in the West Finglas area of Dublin.

Irish Water and Dublin City Council are working to deliver the works, which will prevent water leakage and safeguard the water supply for homes and businesses in the area.

Work is taking place today, Thursday 24 November, from 1pm until 5pm.

As part of the national Leakage Reduction Programme, crews will endeavour to complete these essential works as quickly as possible and minimise disruption to the local community. However, some customers on the Cardiffsbridge Road, Glenties Drive, Glenties Park, Tolka Valley View, Rathvilly Drive, Berryfield Road, Valeview Gardens, Kippure Park, Saint Helena's Road, Barnamore Crescent and surrounding areas in West Finglas may experience intermittent interruptions to their water supply during these times. Typically, it takes two to three hours following restoration time for normal supply to be fully restored to all areas.


Customers may also experience some temporary discolouration of water following the works and on occasion issues such as internal airlocks may arise.

These works are being carried out by GMC Utilities Ltd on behalf of Irish Water.
