The Harrier Way car park in the centre of Ballyclare has reopened following a series of key improvements.
Approximately £130,000 was invested in the upgrades as part of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council's £500,000 overall car park improvement programme.
The improvements include making the car park safer with new lighting, adding a footpath as well as resurfacing adding new kerbs, a safe pedestrian zone with bollards, improved drainage, along with more disabled and family car parking bays.
Harrier Way car park is the second car park to undergo improvements in the town. Earlier this year, the Square car park also received an upgrade. Car parks in Antrim (Castle Mall and Bridge Street) and Randalstown (Portglenone Road) will also see surface and drainage improvements made by the end of November.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Alderman Stephen Ross said: "Car parks can be the gateway to attract people into our towns. Free, easy car parking means people are more inclined to shop local and of course, that is better for our local economy.
"I would like to thank the businesses and shoppers for their patience while the work was undertaken and hopefully, they will reap the rewards from this latest investment in Ballyclare.
"Longer term, you will see improvement works starting in other towns and villages. These include Shore Road carpark, Whiteabbey, Railway Street, Antrim and John Street in Randalstown."
