Crews were deployed to the site to address the water main which supplies Fairymount, Moyne and Loughglynn.
Every effort was made to maintain supply to as many customers as possible but the burst impacted water supply to customers and businesses in the three North Roscommon areas. Repairs were completed yesterday evening, but it took a number of additional hours to refill the system and restore normal supply to all customers.

Irish Water's Ger Greally apologised to the customers affected.
"We understand the inconvenience unplanned outages can have on customers and we appreciate their patience as we work with Roscommon County Council to repair the burst and return the water supply," he said.
