RIAI has launched its Public Choice Award, inviting people to vote for which of the 31 entries they prefer.

The Public Choice Award marks the launch of the annual RIAI Architecture Awards, now in their 33rd year, which celebrate excellence in the design and delivery of buildings. Online voting is now open, and all of the Public Choice projects are available to view on the RIAI website. Voting closes on midnight 21 June and the Winner will be announced on 23 June by RIAI President, Charlotte Sheridan.

Charlotte Sheridan, RIAI President, said: "We are thrilled to announce the shortlist for this year's Public Choice Award and are delighted with the level of entries and the incredible architecture designs being showcased. The high quality of entries demonstrates the value that Irish architects are adding to all aspects of the built environment, supporting Ireland's economic, cultural and social structure. I strongly encourage everyone to log onto our website, view the collection of stunning designs and vote for their favourite project. Voting closes on 21 June, so don't wait!"

Amongst the projects for the public to consider are: the adaptation and reuse of the Hanover Quay project and Woodlock Library at Dublin City University, both in Dublin; the development of learning environments such as Central Quad and Printmaking Studio both located at Dublin's youngest university campus, TU Dublin Grangegorman; public realm projects that enhance our built environment such as the Cobh Masterplan and the Le Fanu Skate-BMX and Play Park; and workplace designs and fit-outs to match changing workplace needs following COVID, such as Working from Home by Simply Architecture, located in Cork, as well as a range of new workplace developments across the country.

The RIAI Irish Architecture Awards will be announced in full on 23 June.
