A number of delegates have been welcomed on site to witness the progress of the £200 million Belfast Transport Hub Project.
Over 30 guests from GDG, Amey, Aecom, Cundall and Arup as well as local Higher Education College, Belfast Met, came to the CPD Breakfast Event hosted by FK Lowry Piling.
The guests were welcomed by Piling Director, Sam Pyper, and Business Development Manager Mark McKeown. Farrans Project Manager, David Bolton, introduced the delegates to the scheme before all those in attendance sat through a technical presentation by Mark Mc Keown on 'Piling & Ground Engineering'. Afterwards, the groups were split into two with one group walking out to the Piling Rigs whilst the other group witnessed site operations from the impressive viewing platform set up by the Principal Contractor, Farrans Sacyr JV.
Mark McKeown, Business Development Manager at FK Lowry Piling, said: "The new Belfast Transport Hub has been in the pipeline for many years and its wonderful to see construction commencing. Its even better that we at FK Lowry Piling are playing a key part as we are currently delivering the £2.7M Piling package on the scheme. Todays CPD Event was the ideal chance to invite our local consultants to witness the piling taking place as well as to learn more about the various piling techniques and disciplines that are available."
