Locals in Belleek and Lisbellaw have been encouraged to help shape the future development of play facilities in both areas.
Fermanagh and Omagh District Council is hosting two separate drop-in sessions to allow residents to inform play facilities in the area.
The Council approved a new Play Park Strategy in 2021 which will guide the future provision, upgrade, development and sustainable management of play parks across the district. As part of year two works for the strategy, development of the play areas in Belleek have been identified as priority.
There are currently three play parks within Belleek – St Davog's, Daly Park and the Community Centre. Lisbellaw has two play parks - Killreagh Road and Queen's Park. The draft proposals envisage the upgrade and modernisation of the parks, creating a more inclusive, fun and enjoyable play experience for all children and young people; recognising the changing demographics within Belleek.
Councillor Errol Thompson, Chair of Fermanagh and Omagh District Council said: "The play strategy aims to develop and deliver a sustainable action plan for inclusive and accessible play spaces and provision across the district that meets the needs of all our children and young people."
The drop-in sessions will take place at Belleek Community Centre on Thursday 12 May 2022 from 8pm – 9pm, and Lisbellaw Parish Centre on Monday 09 May 2022 from 8pm – 9pm.
The Belleek survey can be accessed here and closes on 20 May 2022 at 5pm.
The online survey for Lisbellaw will be available online until Friday 13 May at 5pm.
