Work will see the installation of approximately 450 metres of new modern high-density polyethylene (plastic) pipes along the L4015 to connect two existing supplies. This will help to secure part of the network in Ballivor where supply is being supplemented by tankered water by reducing the need for ongoing tankering and safeguarding the water supply to homes and businesses in the area.
Irish Water is working alongside Meath County Council to deliver the work, which will be carried out by GMC Utilities Group Limited. It is expected to reach completion by the end of September.

Short-term interruptions to water supply may be necessary while works are ongoing but Irish Water will ensure that customers are given advanced notice of any planned disruptions to supply. To facilitate the safe delivery of the works, traffic management will be in place. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted and emergency and restricted local access will be maintained. Irish Water and Meath County Council would like to thank the public for their patience as we carry out these essential works.

We understand this type of work can be inconvenient and we will ensure our work crews make every effort to minimise any disruption these works may cause."
These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water's national Leakage Reduction Programme which involves an investment of over €500 million between 2017 and the end of 2021 and helps provide a more reliable water supply to Irish communities, reduce high levels of leakage and improve water quality.
