Locals To Assess Impact Of Strabane Pedestrian Bridge

The impact of a new pedestrian and cycle bridge in Strabane is set to assessed via public consultation.

A major capital investment project from Derry City and Strabane District Council, the bridge provides a crucial missing link for pedestrians and cyclists between the residential areas and schools south of the river and Strabane centre to the north.

Locals are being urged to offer feedback on the impact of the project via a new online survey.

Mayor of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Councillor Michaela Boyle said: "The Strabane Pedestrian / Cycle Bridge was built to enhance community cohesion and provide a safer crossing point for pedestrians and cyclists by improving access to key health and leisure services.



"The bridge has a 95 metre span over the River Mourne and links the communities of Ballycolman and Meetinghouse Street.


"We would be grateful if users could spend a few moments to complete the questionnaire to measure if the project has improved pedestrian and cycle connectivity and if there are any ways the service could be improved."

The survey has been split into two sections, one for club users and another for general users.

The deadline for submissions is Wednesday February 26 2020.
