DLR Groups Secure Environment Action Funding

A number of local schools, educators and not-for-profit groups in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown have secured funding for environment action.

Approximately €36,800 was awarded under the Community Environment Action Fund (Local Agenda 21) 2019 to 2020. 

These funds will support 29 projects, which complement, at a local level, sustainable policies to prevent waste, tackle climate breakdown and enhance biodiversity. Projects supported include school gardens, waste prevention, compost schemes, educational initiatives and biodiversity projects.


The Community Environment Action Fund assists sustainable development from the ground-up and facilitates, at local level, the achievement of the objectives of the Agenda 21 action plan on sustainable development which was agreed at the UN Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, in 1992 (the "Earth Summit").

It is jointly funded by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment.
