Events To Take Place At TU Dublin For Planning Week 2019

Four events are set to take place at TU Dublin next week to celebrate Planning Week 2019.

Running from Monday 04 November to Thursday 07 November, the events will be hosted by the Environment Planning and Sustainability society.

The week will begin with a talk from Eoin Ó Broin TD, Sinn Féin spokesperson on Housing. Deputy Ó Broin will discuss his new book 'Home', and the housing crisis and what believes the public sector can do to solve this serious problem. Later on that day, former Irish Times Environment Editor and Author of 'Truly Frank: A Dublin Memoir', Frank McDonald, will deliver his talk 'Dublin: The Dysfunctional City' in which he will explain why Dublin has so many issues with planning.


On Tuesday, Green Party Dublin City Councillor, Cllr Neasa Hourigan, will present the new city development plan and the relationship that councillors have with the executive branch on behalf of the Deputy Lord Mayors' office. Neasa is also the founder of the Irish Pedestrian Network and Dublin Blockers on social media.

The fourth and last event will feature Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Damien English TD and Joseph Corr, President of the Irish Planning Institute, who will discuss the National Planning Framework amongst other topics.
