Irish Water Issues Warning To Cork Customers

Continuing water mains improvement works on the Skehard Road in Cork may result in disruption to local supply, Irish Water has warned.

Those in the Mahon, Ballintemple, Blackrock, Beaumont and the Monahan Road/Centre Park Road/Marina areas could potentially be affected from 11.30pm on Wednesday 11 September to 4am on Thursday 12.


Homes and businesses in the above areas may be impacted by reduced water pressure and water outages. Following these improvement works water supply may take two to three hours to return as water refills the network.

Current water main infrastructure in the Skehard Road area does not allow isolation from the primary trunk main to be undertaken and therefore to allow new water mains to be connected to the network a greater area shutdown is required.

These works are being carried out as part of Irish Water's national £500 million Leakage Reduction Programme.
