A total 50 nominees are set to compete in the CEF/Specify Construction Excellence Awards later this year.

The final shortlist was announced for the 20th annual awards show, which sees the award-winning Mourne Wall project up for a Restoration prize.

The awards showcase the best of the construction industry in Northern Ireland and its achievements. The aim of the competition is to promote excellence and to give recognition to those companies who are achieving the highest standards of construction.

The entries will be judged within fifteen award categories under the headings of housing, general construction, infrastructure, quality performance and GB and Republic of Ireland construction.

Commenting, David Fry, Assistant Director of the Construction Employers Federation, said: "The sheer scale and variety of the work on display in this year’s shortlist is testament to the high level of quality, skill, and innovation that underpins the construction industry in Northern Ireland.

"Our annual Construction Excellence Awards are a celebration of the fantastic work that the sector delivers every year across the UK, Ireland and further afield and, importantly, recognise the huge contribution that the sector makes to the local economy.

"Our panel of expert judges have been hugely impressed with the calibre of entries this year and now have very difficult decisions to make. I warmly congratulate all of this year's shortlisted companies and wish them every success in the Awards."

Judging for the Awards will take place in August ahead of the Gala Evening ceremony at the Crowne Plaza Belfast on 10 October.
