Mid Ulster District Council is seeking opinions on how best to develop angling, broaden participation and encourage visitors on the Lower Bann.
Speaking ahead of the event on Thursday 16 May, Chair of Mid Ulster District Council, Councillor Sean McPeake said: "There has been some significant investment in the Lower Bann in recent times, with the opening of a new public path along the riverbank and an additional 25 coarse angling stands at Glenone, all part of the work to develop a Blueway route which links Toome and Coleraine.

"We are also looking forward to hosting this year's European Coarse Angling Championship in June, so the time is right to continue the conversations about how we can continue to sensitively develop fishing on the river and open up opportunities for other recreational activities."
This event will feed into a research piece on enhancing local and visitor fishing, as well as identifying the broader opportunities for visitors to enjoy the river.
Sport NI and the Honourable The Irish Society will host the event from 2-4pm on 16 May at the Wild Duck Inn in Portglenone.
