Additional Land Acquired For Magee Campus Expansion

Additional land has been acquired to facilitate the expansion of Ulster University's Magee campus in Londonderry.

Land at the site of the former Foyle College has been transferred to UU for the planned north west expansion.

Sinn Féin MP Elisha McCallion welcomed the progress: "The expansion of Magee is one of the biggest priorities for the continued growth and development of Derry's economy. 


"The key stakeholders involved have been working on the acquisition of this land for some time and I welcome the fact that it has now been completed."

She added: "I have convened a meeting of all parties to meet with the permanent secretary of the Department of Health to discuss the plans for the establishment of a medical school at Magee. 

"This is part of the wider plans for the growth and expansion of Magee which will provide more opportunities for young people and assist the development of a new, vibrant economy in the north west."
