US software company Salesforce is to expand its Dublin operations with a new base at the docklands.
The new base, which will be known as Salesforce Tower, will consist of four new buildings overlooking the River Liffey.
Around 1,500 jobs will be created over the next five years as part of the expansion, including roles in sales, customer support, engineering and business services.
The Californian firm makes customer relationship management (CRM) and business cloud computing software.
Plans for Salesforce Tower Dublin will include an immersive video lobby experience; riverside paths connecting the campus to the cultural city hub; and an 'Ohana Floor', an open hospitality space for Salesforce employees, customers and partners, which will also be available for not-for-profit organisations and local community groups to use on weeknights and weekends at no cost.
Its existing 1,400 employees, along with the new recruits, will move into the new office in mid-2021.
Dr David Dempsey, Country Leader for Salesforce in Ireland, said: "We were one of the first digital companies to locate in Dublin, and since opening here we have seen the city flourish into one of the world's leading technology hubs.
"We are proud to be part of this story and look forward to taking up residence in the very heart of Dublin's Silicon Docks."
Martin Shanahan, CEO of IDA Ireland added: "This is one of the largest single jobs announcements in the 70 year history of IDA Ireland...and this announcement is a strong indicator of the strength of the Irish proposition to investors across the world."
