By replacing 600m of old water main in Tullow Street, the contractor has saved over 180,000 litres of water.
Approximately 60 lead pipes connecting properties to the water main were also removed.

The work was completed ahead of resurfacing works in the area.
Mark O'Duffy of Irish Water said: "y carrying out such works ahead of this resurfacing we were able to minimise disruption in what is a key commercial street in Carlow, while also ensuring that our customers in the area can enjoy a much more secure and reliable water supply now and into the future.
"We would like to thank the local community and local businesses for their patience and understanding while we completed these essential works to ensure a future safe and secure supply of water for the area."
This project also forms part of Irish Water's €500m national Leakage Reduction Programme.
