Community Groups Turn Out For NIHE Networking Event

Community groups have turned out in force for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive's Networking Event.

The Community Networking Event was held in the Killymoon Golf Club in Cookstown.

Attendees heard how community volunteers were bringing people together, creating new services and resolving problems in their area.

Sean McPeake, Mid Ulster Council Chair, said: "We are very fortunate in Mid Ulster to have so many great community volunteers who add so much to the social fabric of our district. It is important that we recognise the benefits these voluntary organisations contribute to the health and wellbeing of our communities and district as a whole. The coming together and sharing of experiences and best practice at events like today's can only bring further benefits and help improve the lives of our local people."


Michael Dallat, NIHE Mid Ulster Area Manager, added: "This event was a great opportunity for us to bring people across Mid Ulster together to learn, network and showcase the invaluable work they do in their community.

"The Housing Executive strongly believes in empowering local people and by holding this event we are giving community groups a platform to share their views, experiences and passion with us."
