The work will take place on site next week, delivered by a conservation architect led multidisciplinary consultant team appointed by Derry City and Strabane District Council.
The adjoining wall garden of the site will also be assessed.

This survey work will form a key component of the conservation management plan on these properties and their surroundings.
Access to the site and the adjacent greenway will be restricted while work is being carried out.
The project is expected to be completed in two weeks.
A spokesperson for the Council said: "Council remains committed to the regeneration of the Boom Hall Estate as a key heritage and recreational asset for citizens and visitors. Council recognises the significant recreation, tourism, heritage and leisure potential of the Boom Hall Estate, and is keen to ensure that the site and its surroundings are optimised for these purposes for the benefit of citizens and visitors."
