Along with students from University Denver, the collaborative team scooped first place in the annual Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) Region 8 competition in Prague.
DIT's representatives, second year Construction Management student John Mullen and third year Part Time Construction Management student Eric Doyle, worked with final-year Construction Management Students Charley White and Ryan Teeter from the University of Denver.

Coached by Sonya Meekel (DIT) and Daniel Trujillo (DU), the team responded to a particular brief (designed by an industry panel on a real-life building) issued at 10am and worked to a deadline of 5pm. Their response included creating a full report and headline presentation to be delivered the following day. Following the initial presentations and the first round of judging, the teams considered to have given the top four performances were called back for a further cross-examination. This involved an intensive Q&A session with the industrial panel, where students were further questioned about their proposals.
The DIT/DU team were then judged to be the best on the day, beating out competition from across the USA and Europe.
