Work To Install New Water Main In Meath Complete

Work to install a new water main in Trim, Meath has been completed.

The scheme involved the replacement of the existing old and damaged public water main on the Lacknanash Road and replacing it with modern high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic pipes. The works also included the replacement of old damaged service connections.


Derek Deignan, Regional Lead for the Water Network Programme, said: "We are pleased to confirm that we have replaced the old damaged water main on Lackanash Road. The existing public water main experienced several bursts over the years resulting in a number of water outages for local residents and businesses. Replacing the problematic main with a new modern pipe has provided a long term solution to ensure a safe and secure water supply is delivered to customers. This project is part of Irish Water's commitment to invest in Ireland's water infrastructure which has been underinvested in for decades."
