The finalists of the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) have been confirmed.
Thirty organisations across eight categories have made it through to the gala Awards ceremony on November 9th where winners will be named.
Shortlisted companies have been chosen from the 120 entrants to the competition and include SMEs like Courtown Adventure and Leisure Centre for its extensive electrical and heating upgrades, Iverk Produce for its lighting, refrigeration and solar PV upgrades, St John of God Hospital for achievements through its five year energy performance contract and M50 Concession Ltd. for its streetlight dimming project. In the Design category AbbVie pharmaceuticals in Sligo, Durkan Residential and Lidl Ireland have been selected for their excellence in energy design projects involving new builds and retrofitted buildings.
Jim Gannon, Chief Executive of the SEAI, said: "Each year the SEAI Energy Awards showcase excellence in sustainable energy. We all have a say in what our energy future will look like and we all have a responsibility to act. The Awards finalists are leading the way in this action and are demonstrating how other organisations can push the boundaries of more sustainable energy generation and energy efficiency activities. I commend them on their significant achievements."
For the first time, a €10,000 bursary is being offered to the winner of the Research category. In the running for this are Irish Manufacturing Research, Exergen and Senergy Innovations.
The Awards are supported by category sponsors Enprova, ESB, and Gas Networks Ireland.
