Sinn Fein has hit out at Fianna Fail over their budget.
Housing spokesperson Eoin Ó Broin TD said the party's budget is an "insult to those in housing need".
He said: "The five bullet points and 300 words on housing contain no detailed, costed proposals. What good is a document on budget priorities without any figures?
"People in housing need to know what Fianna Fáil is fighting for on their behalf in their budget negotiations with Fine Gael. How can they do this if they have no figure on how much extra capital investment is needed for social housing? There is no figure or detail on affordable housing and yet again the VAT reduction proposals get a mention.
"People need to ask themselves who Fianna Fáil is on the side of and what do they stand for?
"If you go on the basis of this document, they stand for empty rhetoric and for a party that has an eye on power. This is not good enough.
"Sinn Féin has a set of fully costed and detailed proposals that would tackle the housing crisis. We would increase capital spend by €1.13 billion to bring the total capital spend on social and affordable housing to €1.9 billion for 2018. This will deliver 10,000 real social housing units, almost double the current government target and would deliver 4,500 affordable homes, with 2,000 of these for rent and 2,500 for purchase."
