Irish Water is investing €880,000 in the project and it includes new inlet works, a new aeration system, new equipment which will reduce noise at the plant and a new odour control system.
The investment will benefit people living in neighbouring properties who have previously been impacted by noise and odours due to the age of the equipment at the plant. The upgrade will ensure the plant is compliant with EU Urban Wastewater Directives and is expected to be completed in February 2018.

Ivan Corcoran, Capital Programme Lead with Irish Water, said: "Investment in the Enniskerry Wastewater Treatment plant is needed to increase the efficiency of the wastewater treatment processes at the plant and reduced noise and odours associated with ageing equipment.
"This investment will benefit people living near the plant as noise levels and odour issues will be reduced by modernising the plant."
