Call For Old Garda Station In Wexford To Be Handed Over To The Council

The Office of Public Works has been called to hand over the old Wexford Garda Station to the council.

Fianna Fail said the old building should be made available to community groups in the area as soon as the property has been examined.

TD for Wexford James Browne said: "Wexford's new Garda station is scheduled to open in September. This means the existing Garda station on Roche’s Road will not be needed by the OPW and I am calling on the Department to hand over the property to Wexford County Council for community purposes.


"There are a number of sporting organisations in Wexford like the Na Fianna Boxing Club and Wexford Academy of Martial Arts are without a permanent home. The old Garda station provides a perfect solution to this problem – it's ideally located and should stay in public use."
