Over 70 Properties In Dublin Connected To New Watermains

Over 70 properties in Dublin have been connected to new watermains.

40 properties on Pearse Brothers Park, Ballyboden, and 31 on Limekiln Road, Greenhills, were connected to improve the water quality and security of the water supply for residents.

Irish Water invested €215,000 in the project which included the laying of new watermains on the road in front of properties and new connections for properties to the watermain.

The work was carried out on behalf of Irish Water by DJ O'Neill Limited, and took 18 weeks to complete.

Ivan Corcoran, Capital Programmes Lead, East and Midlands Region, said: "The installation of the new watermains on Pearse Brothers Park and on Limekiln Road has improved water quality and ensured a more reliable and secure water supply for customers. Residents will also benefit from improved water pressure to their properties and any incidents of discoloured water that can occur from old cast iron watermains will have been removed from this section of the network. This project is part of our ongoing investment in Ireland's water infrastructure."
