Meath County Council recently published the details of its 'Navan 2030 Plan' which includes proposals to make the town more pedestrian/cyclist friendly, as well as linking the historic and modern quarters.
Fianna Fáil TD for Meath West Shane Cassells welcomed the announcement.

He said: "The rejuvenation of Navan will allow the town to realise its true social and economic potential. The plan will ensure that the town is able to cope with increased population in the years ahead and will strengthen economic growth in the area.
"The focus must now shift to ensuring the timeline associated with the plan is adhered to. I look forward to working with Meath County Council and the National Transport Authority to ensure that the true potential of this ambitious plan is realised."
