BSG Civil Engineering is continuing work on a £3 million upgrade programme at Camlough Reservoir in Northern Ireland.

The project, which is being delivered in partnership with NI Water and Newry, Mourne & Down District Council, will see essential improvements carried out at Camlough lake.

Features include strengthening the reservoir embankment to provide extra security in the event of heavy rainfall and the construction of a valve tower to control flows from the lake.

Maghera-based BSG is the main contractor on this project, with AECOM providing project management and technical support.

As part of the project, local representatives were invited to come view progress on the development.

Ronan Larkin, Director of Finance & Regulation at NI Water, said: "April 2017 marks a decade of delivery for NI Water, and to acknowledge the role the company plays in Northern Ireland, local representatives were invited to come along and see the construction progress at the reservoir, as part of a programme of site visits throughout Northern Ireland.

"We are delighted to be working in partnership with Newry, Mourne & Down District Council to complete this essential work, which is so important for the local community. Work is progressing well and we anticipate that all work will be completed by May 2017."
