Sinn Féin spokesperson on Environment and Energy, Brian Stanley TD, slammed the government as it pledged to address the issue within six months.
He said: "We are now entering the eighth month of this government without any regulations on the horizon.

"Meanwhile, large scale windfarm developments are ongoing in Counties, Laois, Offaly, Kildare and across the Midlands.
"It is not a complicated matter to introduce set-back distances and noise level limits.
"However when questioned in the Dáil Minister Simon Coveney stated there is still a need for a Strategic Impact Assessment, followed by a public consultation period before we will see any guidelines introduced.
"People are sick and tired of incessant reports and consultations that provide no answers."
