Sinn Fein Councillor Daithí Doolan described the budget as "totally inadequate" and called on Monoster Simon Coveney immediately allocate adequate capital funding to the council.
He said: "Dublin City Council has detailed plans to build homes on 23 sites across the city. These sites include O'Devaney Gardens, St. Michale's and Oscar Traynor which if funded have the potential to provide essential social, affordable and private housing for the city.

"NAMA also needs to play its part. NAMA has 2,567 acres of land in Dublin, this can provide 18,000 homes. It is essential that it plays a central role in tackling the housing crisis. NAMA can not sit on these land banks while homeless families languish in B&Bs and hotels. They must contributes to the solution.
"We seek an urgent meeting with the Minister for Housing at which he must set out the required increased capital allocation for housing for Dublin City Council."
