Plans Submitted To Redevelop Pub And Restaurant In Dublin

A planning application has been submitted to redevelop a pub and restaurant in Santry, Dublin.

The Old Swiss Cottage Pub and Restaurant has deteriorated over the years and the plans include demolishing the former structure.

The application proposes to build a three-storey mixed-use structure comprising a retail unit, a takeaway unit, a two-storey restaurant/cafe unit at ground and first floor level and some office accommodation.


Sinn Fein Councillor Noeleen Reilly welcomed the plans and is calling for residents to be consulted during the construction work.

She said: "I think this will breathe some new life into that part of Santry. I would have some concerns about traffic management as the road is extremely busy.

"Currently, a Pedestrian Crossing is being built beside the development at Magenta Crescent and this should help matters, but it is certainly something that needs to be look at."
